Online 11+, 13+ School Interview Masterclass
2 hour live session
The ‘Interviews masterclass’ is a two-hour group session for students to prepare for 11+ and 13+ interviews. The masterclass provides the child with an overview of what to expect at the interview, how to put your best foot forward and be a confident, best version of yourself.
As well as the school ensuring the child is the right fit for the school, it is also an opportunity for you and your child to ensure the school is the right fit for you. It’s a two-way process and your child should be prepared to ask any questions they may have.
In preparation for the interview, I will provide your child with:
- An ‘about me’ template to record strengths, hobbies, interests, and extra-curricular activities.
- A list of interview questions
- A mock interview template to accompany the list of interview questions.
- A debrief document including group interviews, the school report and final advise for the day of the interview
- After care support: If you would like to discuss school options after the workshop or after ‘results day’, this can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
It is helpful to practise answering typical interview questions. There is a fine line between being prepared but not overly rehearsed, which may be counterproductive and certainly a deterrent to experienced interviewers. It is important that your child is ‘themselves’ and their natural personality and strengths shine through. The topic of practising without being over-prepared is discussed in the workshop.
The interview masterclass covers:
- Why the school is interviewing you and what they are looking for.
- Your conduct, mindset, and body language
- Practical advice for answering questions.
- Recording your achievements and promoting your strengths.
- Handling difficult/tricky questions
- Mistakes to avoid.
- Advice for asking questions.
- Leave a lasting impression at the end
We would be delighted to assist your child to shine, showcase their strengths and approach the interview with confidence and charisma.
The interviews masterclass is only £45 for the two-hour session. There will be a maximum of 6 children per session.

Mock interview one-to-one session
After the ‘Interview Masterclass’, your child will be provided an opportunity to put into practise the skills taught in the interview masterclass.
The One-to-One Interview format is:
- Approximately one hour
- Either online in person (Northwood- HA6)
The mock interview will increase your child’s confidence and competitive edge. I aspire for your son/daughter to convey the best version of themselves and confidently yet modestly showcase their strengths and achievements.
I encourage students to answer questions in full sentences, providing reasons and evidence to support their response.
The one-to-one mock is a bespoke practice interview session to evaluate your child’s interviewing skills in depth including:
- How the student meets and greets the interviewer
- A summary of important interview advice
- Approximately 20 interview questions (with verbal feedback to the student)
- An ‘academic task’ e.g., analyse a poem or picture and mental maths
- Evidence based answers
- How your child closes the interview and thanks the interviewer
The assessment and feedback is rigorously devised to include key competencies and values sought by leading Independent schools in the UK.

You will also be given an insight on areas of improvement, including:

You will also be provided with feedback on your child’s:
- Body language- eye contact, smiling, posture, fidgeting and nervous habits
- Voice projection- pace, pitch, volume and how natural/authentic they appear
Once you book the masterclass and one-to one interview package, I will be in touch with you via email to book the one-to-one session. We can agree a mutually convenient date/time for the mock interview.
The feedback can be provided in a written report or through a telephone call at your convenience.
