11+ Interviews: Top Twenty Questions Masterclass
Parents often contact me requesting the 11+ mock interview service. I liken this to your child sitting a maths test before being taught the concepts. I highly advise attending the ‘Top Twenty Questions Masterclass’ as a pre-requisite to the 11+ or 13+ interview, so the student understands what is expected of them and how to respond to questions.
This masterclass is highly cost-effective and an excellent investment for an abundance of experienced interview guidance and supporting documents.
The 11+ Interviews Top Twenty Questions Masterclass is a two-hour online session and covers:
- The most commonly occurring questions with a marking scheme and guidance/prompts on answering questions.
- What are schools looking for, and why do they interview?
- Making a strong first impression
- Calming your nerves and a growth mindset for interviews and examinations
- Top tips for answering questions including tricky, ‘negative’ and debatable questions
The masterclass provides the child with an overview of what to expect at the interview, and how to put your best foot forward and be a confident, best version of yourself. As well as the school ensuring the child is the right fit for the school, it is also an opportunity for you and your child to ensure the school is the right fit for you. It’s a two-way process and your child should be prepared to ask any questions they may have:
Upon signing up for this masterclass, you will also be sent the following documentation which is optional and can either be completed before or after the masterclass. Working through these templates will immensely help your child with preparation for the interview.
- The school interview questions guide
- The school interview questions planner
- A comprehensive list of school interview questions
- The student elevator pitch
- The ‘about me’ document
- Researching the school
- Current affairs
- Book Questions
- Asking questions
It is helpful to practice answering typical interview questions. There is a fine line between being prepared but not overly rehearsed, which may be counterproductive and certainly a deterrent to experienced interviewers. Your child must be ‘themselves’ and the interview should enable their natural personality and strengths to shine through. The topic of practicing without being over-prepared is discussed in the workshop.
I would be delighted to assist your child to shine, showcase their strengths, and approach the interview with confidence and charisma.
The ‘Interviews Top Twenty Questions Masterclass’ is only £37 for the two-hour session. There will be a maximum of 6 children per session.
In preparation for the interview, I will provide your child with:
- An ‘about me’ template to record strengths, hobbies, interests, and extra-curricular activities.
- A list of interview questions
- A mock interview template to accompany the list of interview questions.
- A debrief document including group interviews, the school report and final advise for the day of the interview
